Thank you so much to everyone who helped with the Prendergast Event! It was a huge success! We had about 800-900 people attend, even with the major set back of telling people it was canceled for a day.

A Potluck For STAND Members

At our last meeting we decided to have a potluck in place of our usual STAND meeting on March 6th from 6:30 to 7:30 (or later). We will be having it in the Womens Center since they have a nice big hang-out room and a kitchen. The Womens Center is located between the library and the music building (this is not the same as the Womens Building). If you will be coming, please add a comment and say what you'll be bringing food-wise so that we get a good variety of food. Games and name tags will be provided :)

A concert to benefit the refugees in Darfur

I know a lot of people don't like the idea of having to decide between spending money on entertainment and donating to a worthy humanitarian cause. That's why it's nice that Project BandSTAND has taken all the difficulty out of it by organizing a concert to benefit Darfur refugees! For a small donation you'll get to experience three great bands live right here at OSU. Admission is free, but a $5 donation would be appreciated. All sales will be donated to the Genocide Intervention Network.

This all takes place March 4th, 2008 from 7-10pm in OSU's Memorial Union Ballroom.

John Predergast Update

Submitted by Marisa on Mon, 02/11/2008 - 8:39pm.

I have a super important update for the letter for John Prendergast's talk. We had been told by John's Oregon contact, Rob Hadley, that John had requested a $5000 donation to his organization, the ENOUGH project. Unfortunately, Rob was wrong, and instead the $5000 is for an honorarium for John, not for his organization. I am so sorry about this change.
