I have a super important update for the letter for John Prendergast's talk. We had been told by John's Oregon contact, Rob Hadley, that John had requested a $5000 donation to his organization, the ENOUGH project. Unfortunately, Rob was wrong, and instead the $5000 is for an honorarium for John, not for his organization. I am so sorry about this change. It is pretty frustrating that all of the letters I had you take out to your organizations are wrong now, and please let the organizations know that I am sorry and that it was the result of miscommunication between John and our contact for John.

Explain that even though it will not go to ENOUGH, and that John could technically use the money however he wants, he is basically the most aggressive Darfur activist in the U.S., and that because he really cares about Darfur, it is possible that he will use the money to fund Darfur related activities (such as money to travel to continue spreading the message of Darfur).

Also, please emphasize that even though the money is for an honorarium, we really believe that having Prendergast speak at OSU will be an incredible experience and opportunity for students, faculty, and the community. He will be an amazing speaker, who brings a super important message, and who has the charisma and power to inspire people to take action, thus furthering the cause.

So, instead of this line in the letter:
Prendergast is not expecting a personal honorarium for his talk, rather a donation of $5,000 to the ENOUGH Project.

Please replace it with the following:
Prendergast has requested a $5,000 honorarium for his talk, for which he may use for Darfur related activities.

What I suggest is that you take the letter that I sent you before, and just cut out the previous line, and replace it with the updated and correct sentence.
