This is an invitation for everyone to come to the first meeting of the
winter term. We will be discussing what the club does as well as
discussing our upcoming events; Dine for Darfur and our presentation
for the Vagina Monologues. Come help us put an end to genocide around
the world. Also, there will be pizza!

This is a reminder... We still have time to sign-up to deliver Dine for Darfur letters to restaurants around town.

We will host a booth for a portion of the day in the MU quad to spread awareness and to ask for donations for certain Darfur-related humanitarian charities.  If you are available, stop by our booth and help give out information to interested students on STAND and the conflict in Darfur.

We will be making final preparations for Dine for Darfur.  If you are interested in graphic design, we will be accepting poster ideas for the event at our meeting.

Also, any updates on the Vagina Monologues presentation the following day will be discussed.

We will be doing a presentation in Student Health Services 322 during the Vagina Monologues to spread awareness of the sexual abuse that occurs in Darfur as part of the Janjaweed's assault on civilians.

A get to know each other party early on Valentines Day.  This will be a potluck-style event, so please bring some cookies or something.

This is the restaurants' deadline for returning the Dine For Darfur pledge letters either to a STAND officer, or by mailing it to:

From here, we will compile the participating restaurants' names onto the finalized advertisment poster, and display them around campus and at the restaurants.

This will be the first of a monthly social justice movie screening night.  For this day, we will be watching Born into Brothels, a movie dealing with children growing up in prostitution houses in Calcutta, India.  The screening will take place in the Women's Center (also called Benton Annex, located by the bell tower in the library quad).

This is a day when local restaraunts will be donating a portion of their profit towards the Darfur branch of the Genocide Intervention Network.

Collect donations from Dine for Darfur Restaraunts and submit a check to the Genocide Intervention Network.
